The Patient Care Technician (PCT) program is designed to prepare students for a versatile and fulfilling role in the healthcare industry. PCTs work closely with nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals to provide essential care and support to patients in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings.
What You’ll Learn:
Fundamentals of patient care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, and daily living activities
Monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels
Intro to phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques
EKG testing and basic cardiac monitoring
Infection control protocols and safety procedures
Effective communication and patient interaction skills
Providing emotional and physical support to patients and their families
