SUNY Orange conducts training programs that provide individuals with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace. Courses are offered for people beginning new careers or those who may be entering the workforce for the first time. In addition, courses are available that will enable people to upgrade their skills for their current job or to continue with their education.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Training Vouchers
If you are unemployed, a dislocated or displaced worker, you may be eligible to receive funding to cover the costs of select courses and certificate programs. As an eligible training provider under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), SUNY Orange can offer courses and certificate programs that are fully covered by special training vouchers.
Job Readiness Courses and Career Preparation Programs
Workforce Development programs offer job readiness courses and career preparation programs that provide participants with the skills needed to meet the demand of today's workplace. A+ Certification, Network+, and Administrative Medical Office Assistant are just a few offerings available to students.
Youth Empowerment Program - YEP
Thanks in part to the WIOA grant from the Orange County Workforce Investment Board, the College engages out of school and unemployed youth to reconnect them with educational and workforce systems. The YEP program is held on the SUNY Orange Middletown campus and offers youth ages 16-24 the following:

The Orange County Employment and Training Administration is part of the County’s Workforce Development System. They provide resources and services to individuals seeking employment and to businesses looking to build their workforce.

- Assistance with applying for the High School Equivalency Regents Exam Pathway
