A pre-semester acceleration is a special opportunity for incoming SUNY Orange students who have placed into Basic Writing Skills 1 (WRT 030). This two-week intensive course is designed to help students review and refresh their basic writing skills through instruction and lab practice. Students who successfully complete the pre-semester acceleration will be reevaluated by writing two paragraphs – one in past tense, and the other in present tense - at the end of the course to determine their final placement with the potential of placing directly into Basic Writing Skills 2 (WRT 040).
